Rebuilt after the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, the State Street store has undergone building expansions and numerous renovations. Today, the store occupies the entire city block bounded by Washington, State, Wabash and Randolph Streets. The grand clocks extending proudly from the State Street building corners at Randolph and Washington were made famous in a Norman Rockwell painting.
