Order Online

Most orders are shipped within 3 to 4 days. Custom Matted and framed prints ("Distinctly Chicago" items)are made to order and ship in about 4 weeks via Federal Express only. You will be notified by e-mail when we fill your order. We accept Visa, Master Card, Discover, and American Express. We ship via UPS. Only orders to P.O. Boxes and international orders will be shipped via USPS First Class Mail. If you require a different shipping company please call or e-mail 312-799-2261 / taylor@chicagohistory.org

Order by Phone

You can order by phone by calling (312)799-2262 during the Clark Street stores business hours. Phone orders are usually shipped within 5 to 7 days.

Tax

Orders placed for shipment within the state of Illinois will be charged 9.00% sales tax. Orders shipped outside Illinois will not be taxed. If you have a state or federal tax exempt number, please use the 'membership number' field on the order form to fill in your tax exempt number.

Shipping
Shipping charges are calculated by dollar amount, and are automatically added to your order. Occasionally, shipping costs far exceed the amount automatically charged by our shipping calculator. We will e-mail you immediately if shipping charges need to be adjusted.

PLEASE NOTE: UPS DOES NOT DELIVER ON SATURDAY OR ON MAJOR HOLIDAYS. ALL TIME-IN-TRANSIT DAYS REFER ONLY TO MONDAY-FRIDAY; PACKAGES DO NOT TRAVEL VIA UPS ON SATURDAYS OR SUNDAYS OR HOLIDAYS.

Rush shipping cannot be applied to Custom Matted and Framed prints ("Distinctly Chicago" items)and cannot be guaranteed for out of stock merchandise. We will notify you as soon as possible if an item ordered is out of stock.

For international orders:We can only ship via USPS First Class Mail Air Mail Parcel Post to international locations-including Canada. You must choose the 'international' option for shipments outside the United States. All international orders will be charged $20.00 for shipping and handling. Occasionally shipping charges exceed the listed amount, and we will e-mail you with any additional charges. Any customs charges are the responsibility of the customer, and are not included in the shipping charge. We cannot ship some items to international locations and you will be notified by e-mail if we cannot ship your item to the address specified. Gift Wrap

We offer gift wrapping at a charge of $3.75 per item. Your gifts will be wrapped in silver paper, with our CHM logo label.

Member Discount

Members of the Chicago History Museum are entitled to a 10% discount on their purchases. Please include your membership number in the space provided on the order form to receive your discount. The discount will be calculated and final the charge amount will be confirmed via e-mail. Membership information can be found at www.chicagohistory.org/support/membership

Returns

If your purchase has been damaged during shipping, or if you received an incorrect item or gift, please e-mail us within 30 days and we will replace the damaged and/or incorrect item(s) as soon as possible. We will credit your account only for the cost of the merchandise and sales tax (within the state of Illinois), we will only refund shipping charges if the item was damaged in shipping or if we sent an incorrect item in error.

Mission Statement

The Museum Store serves as an extension of the History Museum by encouraging the teaching and learning of history and by enhancing the understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of history - both accomplished through merchandising and retail programming/events related to United States and Chicago history.

The Museum Store also serves to increase the visibility of the CHM collection through the sale and distribution of products reproduced and adapted from and/or inspired by that collection.

The Chicago History Museum is a privately endowed, independent institution devoted to collecting, interpreting, and presenting the rich multicultural history of Chicago and Illinois as well as selected areas of American history, to the public through exhibitions, programs, research collections, and publications

The Chicago History Museum collects, exhibits, and interprets documents, images, and artifacts related to the history of the United States and metropolitan Chicago. Its mission is to expand audiences for history, to be a leader in history education, and to be a premier research institution.
